I'm John Clyman. I've built and led the product and engineering organizations behind trusted digital advertising platforms. Most recently I was Executive VP of Engineering at Raptive. Previously I was co-founder and CTO of SiteScout. When Rubicon Project (now Magnite) acquired us, I stayed on for more than a decade, including almost six years as VP Engineering for Marketplace Quality & Security.

Narrative Logic is my consulting firm. I take on your gnarly challenges that require deep and broad knowledge of the adtech ecosystem. My biggest leverage comes from helping you manage strategic risk, supporting M&A diligence and integration, providing trusted counsel independent of internal pressures, and building durable operating mechanisms.

The problems that reach me are usually the ones that don't fit anywhere else: they combine commercial and technical factors, cross organizational or even company boundaries, and don't match tidy job descriptions. Sometimes the solution is supplementing product or engineering leadership to cover a gap or launch a new capability. Sometimes it's a focused assessment delivering findings you can act on.
